2021 Merlot
Our 2021 Merlot is ruby in color with aromas of violet, black cherry, plum, black olive, and cedar. On the palate, it presents expressive notes of both red fruit and deeper dark fruit with accents of toasted mocha, caramelized brown sugar and anise. Balanced acidity and fine tannins provide structure, leading to a long, lingering finish. Decanting is recommended to unlock its full depth.

This Merlot pairs excellently with grilled meats such as steak or lamb and compliments pasta dishes with rich tomato-based sauces, like spaghetti Bolognese. Try pairing with aged Gruyère or Brie, which harmonizes with the wine’s smooth texture and subtle oak influence.

South facing, our Southern Oregon vineyard estate is located at the northern end of the Rogue Valley. With elevations ranging from 700 to 1800 feet, the primarily ancient volcanic and alluvial fan soils provide well drained, nutrient rich soils which are ideal for growing premium wine grapes.
The grapes are de-stemmed, gently crushed, and undergo a 5-day cold soak, where non-Saccharomyces yeast is introduced to promote aromatic complexity. Fermentation takes place in stainless-steel vats with controlled aeration at moderate temperatures. Once the desired structure and mouthfeel are achieved, the wine is aged in oak barrels, with 15% new French oak adding complexity, while the remainder is aged in neutral barrels to preserve varietal purity and finesse.
